Salvatore Gentile
Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder
Sal founded Friday Health Plans to transform the market for health insurance. With over 30 years of experience in high growth, innovative companies, Sal brings deep experience in operational leadership, market strategy, and business development. Prior to founding Friday, Sal was CEO of HealthX, a software company which built online portals and tools for the health insurance industry. From 2004 to 2013, Sal led markets at TriZetto Corporation, the leading provider of enterprise software and services for the health insurance industry, where he became an expert at using technology to drive efficiency and automation in health insurance. Sal led a number of sales, marketing and business development functions at high growth technology firms. Sal is a graduate of Pace University where he majored in math and computer science.
David Pinkert
Chief Operating Officer and Co-founder.
Dave founded Friday Health Plans to innovate a new way of delivering health insurance. With over 20 years of leadership experience in healthcare, he is passionate about new ideas that will improve the health care experience in the U.S. Prior to Friday, Dave was an independent consultant focused on strategy for clients in managed care, healthcare IT and services segments. Dave was one of the first employees of TriZetto, and led multiple product development functions over a 15-year span, specializing in leading turnarounds and new launches. Prior to TriZetto, Dave led product development at Oxford Health Plans, where he focused on development of specialty networks and new reimbursement methodologies. Dave also covered the managed care industry as a research analyst at Robertson Stephens and Company, and he was a health policy and economics consultant at the Lewin Group. Dave earned his MBA in healthcare management from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
M. Donald Kowitz
President of Western Markets
With more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare and health insurance industries, Don currently serves as Friday's President of Western Markets. Don previously retired as the Chief Executive Officer of Saint Mary’s Health Plans (SMHP) in May of 2014. SMHP (now Prominence Health Plan) serves over 65,000 Nevadans with a full range of health insurance, administrative and wellness services. Under his leadership the size of the plan quadrupled and expanded into Las Vegas. He formed a provider network joint venture with Universal Health System and designed product offerings on the Nevada healthcare exchange. With his direction, SMHP became the first Nevada Health Plan to earn an “excellent” accreditation from the National Committee for Quality assurance (NCQA).

Don received his education at Michigan State University, graduating with high honors and a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics with a minor in accounting. He began his career as a CPA, and then worked for almost 15 years as a senior executive in various insurance, financial and operations positions.

Daniel Phillips
Chief Financial Officer
Dan is a highly experienced finance executive in healthcare with twenty-five years’ experience. Dan has lead the launching of new products in several markets and has been involved with multiple business combination transactions. Dan began his career in public accounting before moving on to healthcare. He has held the Chief Financial Officer role at a number of health plans and firms offering services to health plans. His past companies operated in commercial markets as well as in the Medicare and Medicaid space. Dan is a graduate of The American University and a CPA.
Tracy Faigin
Chief Marketing Officer
Tracy has more than 20 years’ experience in marketing and sales strategy, branding, and corporate communication with an emphasis on consumer marketing and behavior change. Before joining Friday, Tracy was Chief Marketing Officer for Colorado HealthOP—Colorado’s startup health insurance co-op—where she grew membership to 85,000 members in nearly two years. Tracy also served as VP of Marketing and Communications on the startup team for LiveWell Colorado, a statewide nonprofit with a mission to reverse obesity trends. She has also held positions at several marketing and communications consulting firms, where she developed results-driven campaigns for public health initiatives, insurance carriers, health care facilities, and utilities. She has also marketed bicycles, women’s softball, ski areas, beer, and other consumer pursuits. Tracy completed undergraduate work at Northwestern University and holds a master’s degree in integrated marketing communication from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Shannon Long
Chief People Officer
Shannon has 20 years of progressive HR experience in many industries including high tech, aerospace, and public sector. Most recently she was the Chief People Officer of the Colorado Health Insurance Cooperative (Colorado HealthOP). She joined Colorado HealthOP in the early stages of formation and was responsible for building out the personnel infrastructure for the organization that ultimately employed 90 employees and 150 outsourced call center employees. In addition to the infrastructure, Shannon led the initiatives to establish Colorado HealthOP as an employer of choice in the national market. Colorado HealthOP was named a Top Workplace in 2014 and 2015. Shannon earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from the University of Colorado in Human Resources.
Brian Stoner
Vice President, Underwriting and Product
Brian joined Friday Health Plans in November 2015. Brian brings 20 years of national and regional health plan experience across multiple lines of business. Prior to joining Friday, Brian led Actuarial, Underwriting, Product Development, and Group Installation, during the last 7 years, at a regional health insurance company in Texas. From 2010-2015, Brian led the ACA product offerings, managing a cross functional team of business owners toward a successful entry to market. From 1999 to 2008 Brian led other underwriting units toward measured membership growth and profitability.
Lisa Yacuzzo
Chief Legal Officer
Lisa Yacuzzo joins the team as Chief Legal Officer in charge of compliance and regulatory affairs. Lisa has more than 20 years’ experience in senior legal positions in health systems, most recently at CIGNA and Great-West Life & Annuity. She provides enterprise wide-legal support including regulatory and compliance issues.
Ray Seggelke
Vice President of Information Technology
Ray has more than 20 years of experience in implementing enterprise-level software solutions across a variety of domains. Most recently, he served as senior director of technology at Colorado HealthOP, where he managed all technical exchanges with Connect for Health Colorado, the TPA, and Off-Exchange Enrollment Payment Platform. Prior to joining the HealthOP, Ray was part owner of a small consulting company and worked with multiple health insurance companies and private exchange solutions to integrate their systems with the CMS FFM (Federally Facilitated Marketplace) and/or their local State-based Exchanges.

Eduardo Cruz
Board Member
Eduardo Cruz is President and CEO of the largest health insurance company in the Dominican Republic and Central America. Mr. Cruz has served as Chairman of ALAMI, the Latin American Association of Private Health Plans. Mr. Cruz was recognized as a Young Global Leader (YGL) from the World Economic Forum (WEF) and is currently a member of the Council of Management in the International Federation of Health Plans (iFHP). Eduardo earned his MBA at Georgia Tech and his MPA from Harvard University.
Michael S. Pinkert
Board Member
Michael Pinkert is Chairman and CEO of MHM Services, the largest provider of managed behavioral health services to the U.S. correctional health market. Prior to founding MHM in 1981, Mr. Pinkert served as Vice President of Psychiatric Institutes of America (``PIA``) from 1979 to 1981. Prior to joining PIA, he was Vice President of Charter Medical Corporation from 1976 to 1977 where he was responsible for international marketing. Mike earned his MBA and MSEE from the University of Michigan.
